About Tess's Cakes

Tess's Cakes is a cake making and decorating business based in my family home in Colchester Essex.

 

My name is Carl and I am the owner of Tess's Cakes with over 18 years experience in the catering trade. After getting fantastic responses from family and friends whose celebration and wedding cakes I made over the years; I decided to turn my pastime into the business that you see today.

 

My interest in cooking started at a young age whilst being looked after by my beloved Nan Tess, whilst my parents were working.

I have worked in the catering business since qualifying at Colchester Institute school of hotel and catering. I went on to work in Switzerland before returning home and becoming the head chef of a catering company.

 

I decided to open Tess's Cakes in memory of my Nan who we sadly lost a few years ago.
