Terms & Conditions
Orders are supported by a non refundable deposit.
Final Payment
The final balance of your order is due upon collection/delivery, Payment must be made in cash unless otherwise agreed.
Alterations
All cakes are made fresh to order therefore any alterations to your design can be made up to 7 days prior to you event
Delivery and Storage - Most of our cakes are delivered by us direct to you. Should you choose to collect your cake you must ensure that this is kept at room temperature, out of direct sunlight in the box(es) provided. If you do choose to collect your cake, Please ensure that you have enough room for your cake to sit flat, ideally in the boot of your vehicle. Tess's Cakes accepts no responsibility once the cake has left the premises. If your cake is being delivered it remains the responsibility of Tess's Cakes until it reaches the delivery address.
Stand Hire
Stand hire is available at a charge of £25. A security deposit of £65 is required and this will be reimbursed once the stand has been returned in its original condition. All stands must be returned to us within 96 hours of your event unless otherwise agreed by both parties. Please contact us to arrange a convenient time to return. Collections can be made with a collection charge of £30 being applied
Cancellations
Should for any reason you need to cancel your order all monies previously paid will be forfeited.
Should cancellation occur within 7 days of your event date the remaining balance MUST BE PAID IN FULL.
Images
All of our products are produced fresh and handmade so may differ slightly from the image.
Force Majeure
Should act of God, War or the Queen's enemies, or Act of Parliament or other Government action, strike action, postal delay, extreme weather conditions, force majeure, disaster conditions or any other reason beyond the control of Tess's Cakes and it's owners, the company and it's owners will be excused from carrying out the conditions as laid out until a normal situation has returned.
Wedding Specific
Final Payment
The final balance of your order is due 3 weeks prior to your wedding. Payment may be made by cheque - please make cheques payable to Carl Travers and send to 130 Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester, Essex, CO4 3QG.
Alterations
All cakes are made fresh to order therefore any alterations to your design can be made up to 21 days prior to your wedding.
Delivery and Storage
Most couples decide to have their cakes delivered by us direct to the venue and assembled ready for them to cut. Should you choose to collect your cake you must ensure that this is kept at room temperature, out of direct sunlight in the box(es) provided. If you do choose to collect your cake, Tess's Cakes accepts no responsibility once the cake has left the premises. If your cake is being delivered it remains the responsibility of Tess's Cakes until it reaches the reception venue. Wherever possible the cake will be assembled by Tess's Cakes on the cake table however due to the nature of some venues and ceremonies this is not always possible and is assembled by staff at the venue. Once the cake is delivered to the venue it is no longer the responsibility of Tess's Cakes. A photo is taken of the cake at the venue and staff are asked to sign a form to state that the cake has been received and left with them in good condition.
Please be aware that cakes with pillars and some stands are not recommended by Tess's Cakes if your reception is due to take place in a marquee. This is due to the mezzanine floor in the marquee and the fragile nature of the cakes. If you have any queries regarding this please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your options.
Stand and Knife hire
We have included the charge for the use of one of our stands and knives in your quote, but as some venues provide you with these please let us know if you do not require them and we shall deduct the charge from your bill. A security deposit of £65 is required and this will be reimbursed once the stand and knife have been returned in its original condition.
